Some new information has been revealed about Nissan’s little brother to the upcoming 370Z. Due for a release in 2010, leaked images from Nissan’s GT 2012 meeting and previous sources reveal a first look at the upcoming sports coupe. The front end looks sleek and sharp, while the wide front fenders give the car an aggressive stance. Especially intriguing is the small three-quarter window seen here — differentiating it from other most other sports coupes on the market today.

The rear-wheel-drive coupe will most likely have a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four fitted with Nissan’s Variable Compression Ratio technology. It may even use the Variable Valve Event and Lift system that’s currently in the Infiniti G37. The four-banger will hopefully have around the rumored 222 horsepower and 253 pound-feet of torque.

According to Nissan, the new coupe will be the cheapest out of its sports car category. Performance figures may not match up to the Skyline GT-R, or the up and coming 370Z, but it will hopefully still be plenty quick. And it needs to be. With eager contenders from Toyota and Subaru just around the bend, Nissan will need to keep the car’s performance figures high, and prices low. So far, price estimates indicate the car will sell at around $23,973 — based on Japanese figures.
